" Wahid "
" Wahid " (one) :
One 99 seconds duration black and white film. Two quite enlightened hands in the real face, posed on the black bottom of fabric of the djellaba. The doits move by counting at the rate/rhythm of the voices the 99 “Wahid” psalmodiés during 99 seconds. This film is a trace of my presence after the performance and during the exposure, it will be diffused on a screen of 24 inches, posed on a video tape recorder, both of a color black and installed on black fabric used for the performance. The screen also takes the direction of Mecque to him.
"Wahid" mean one, only and the single one. For me as much as a Moslem also Allah (God) means. In Islam, God has 99 names, a Moslem chain has 99 grains. The position which I take in this performance rather referred to Buddhism (Zen). The repetition of this word “multi-direction” in this sitting position become universal, is carrying a message of peace and tolerance, this video - performance symbolizes the opening to other cultures and religions of the world.
